Music is nothing without love.
Love is nothing without music.
Feeling. Expression. Chemistry. Passion. Romance. On stage, off stage, backstage. Come to Fall in Love, a festival designed for sharing. Fall in love with music. Food. Drinks. Architecture. Friends. Fall in love with strangers. Fall in love yourself.
Fall in love with:
???? Liam Gallagher – the Oasis legend, who will perform for the first time in Romania, at Fall in Love Festival. Besides the „bad boy” trademark and energy, Liam will perform at Fall in Love not only new songs like „Wall of Glass”, „For what it’s Worth” or „Paper Crown” but also other surprises picked from the Oasis repertoire.
???? Disclosure (DJ set) – one of the revelations of the international electronic scene and one and of the one of the most asked for bands from the music industry will Fall in Love with the Romanian audience. The English duo will certainly “Help me lose my mind” in the magic scenery of the Mogosoaia Palace.
????Underworld, the British duo Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, have been one of the most pioneering and influential electronic acts in the world for more than twenty years. In that time, their music has transcended club dance floors and provided soundtracks to everything from iconic movies (Trainspotting) to the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games (for which they were handpicked as musical directors).
Rick and Karl met in Cardiff in the early ’80s and spent the following decade working together in a succession of bands with varying levels of success. After a brace of singles released under the name „Lemon Interrupt”, the reinvigorated Underworld released „Mmm Skyscraper… I Love You” - a thirteen-minute blueprint for their future. Sounding unlike any other electronic record of that era (or since), the 1992 single fitted Karl’s hallucinogenic monologue to a rolling, relentless rhythm track. The dynamic may have been that of a band; the execution was something far more otherworldly. The album that followed – 1994’s hugely acclaimed „dubnobasswithmyheadman” built a formidable live reputation for Underworld.
Released early in 1996, Underworld’s second album, „Second Toughest In The Infants”, saw the band push further into the unknown to create what is unarguably one of the UK’s greatest electronic records – an utterly unique eight track sonic journey through techno, drum’n’bass, minimalist composition and ambient music. Upon release, the media elevated the band to something close to national treasure status („A British band to rank alongside Pet Shop Boys, New Order… hell, Pink Floyd. If all acid house had ever left us was this, it would surely be justification enough” The Face).
???? Kaiser Chiefs – are returning to Romania to make all music lovers dance. Since their start, the band brought to life over 30 singles, among which the well-known hit „Ruby” (2007) and went on the stage of some of the largest stadium concerts and international music festivals. This year, it’s Fall in Love Festival’s turn.
????De La Soul
In 1987, a trio known as De La Soul formed from Long Island, NY roots and changed the landscape of hip-hop as we knew it. Now, for over 20 years they have rocked us with their De La songs full of inscrutable samplings, whimsically irreverent lyrics, social commentary, light rhythm and laid back rhymes. They are best known for their eclectic sampling, quirky lyrics, and their contributions to the evolution of the jazz rap and alternative hip hop subgenres.
Posdnuos, Trugoy and Maseo, the three who formed the group in high school, caught the attention of producer Prince Paul with a demo tape of the song „Plug Tunin'”. With its playful wordplay, innovative sampling, and witty skits, the band's debut album, „3 Feet High and Rising”, has been called „a hip hop masterpiece” and was the band's biggest commercial success to date. The Source magazine listed the album as one of their top 100 hip hop albums of all time, stating that „its true genius is rarely understood”. In 2006, the group won a Grammy for their collaboration with Gorillaz on the single „Feel Good Inc”. In 2011, the group earned Top 5 rankings on both NPR and Soul Train’s year end „Best of” lists. In 2016, De La Soul launched a new album entitled „And The Anonymous Nobody”.
Thought their career, the trio have gained respect within and outside the hip hop community with their contributions to rap, as well as jazz, funk, soul and alternative genres. Not only are their musical innovations acclaimed and respected worldwide, but they paved a path for many alternative rap groups to come after them.
???? Kovacs – one of the richest and most powerful blues and soul voices of our time comes at Fall in Love. The shaven-headed chanteuse hiding the voice of a soul legend beneath her fluffy bear hood, Sharon Kovacs is an enigmatic phenomenon who will sing to us about the light and shade of modern relationships, talking about a series of confessionals about wild love and abusive romantic webs, about hedonism and addiction, which follows every young person’s rough emotional rollercoaster evolution.
???? Șuie Paparude – is one of the most popular and long lasting Romanian bands that has written an important chapter of the Romanian electronic music, being also being the first high profile Romanian act that decided to make their album available online, free for download.
???? Robin and the Backstabbers are a known name within the Romanian artistic scene, established in 2010 at the initiative of Andrei Robin Proca. Members describe the band's music as „melodramatic pop” and 8 singles # 1 on Radio Guerrilla and a first successful album are among the successes which brought the band to the attention of music enthusiasts.
In 2015, the band released a second studio album, „Bacovia Overdrive Vol. II: Archangelsk”, the second part of the next trilogy called Bacovia Overdrive. Its release was preceded by „Music in Songs”, a song with a video in which the members of the band appear alongside several known Romanian actresses, like: Ana Ularu, Diana Cavaliotti, Andreea Vasile. The single „Cosmonaut”, released afterwards, alongside a nostalgic and personal video, seem to complete the story of the second album, both appreciated and controversial.
???? The Mono Jacks – alternate between alternative rock and post-punk touches and define their work as a collection of thoughts and feelings in musical form. Whichever of the bands’ musical pieces you’ll listen, you’ll easily get entranced watching their thoughtful, energetic live shows and their rawness, encapsulated underneath a layer of pervasive melancholy, will captivate you.
???? FiRMA – is one of the iconic rock bands of the Romanian alternative rock scene. With three nominations at the MTV European Music Awards, a second exciting album released in 2007 and a collaboration for the live soundtrack of the play „Deșteptarea primăverii” at Teatrul Mic in Bucharest, the band is keeping a high creative shot.
???? Soundopamine is a duo live act combining warm micro cosmic grooves with the human touch. They are a fresh breath of air in the romanian music scene, always keeping the crowd craving for more. Chris & Natasha are a lifetime musicians that met at the courses of the National Music University in Bucharest, back in 2012, creating their own everyday paradise soundtrack ever since.
In 2017, the duo toured around in Eastern Europe, (click to play) being spotted playing both in alternative locations and on the stages of events & festivals. 2018' had even a better energy, as they started by being nominated as one of the 2018 artists with a significant rise. The summer brought a collaboration with the Open Air crew in Portugal which culminated with a party under the stars in central Lisbon.
???? Mr.jurjak – one of the rising names on the Romanian music scene, is the musical project founded by George Petroșel, the talented son of Edi Petroșel, drummer of the well-known Romanian band Holograf. His debut album entitled „Lemon Blues” was welcomed with enthusiasm by the local market and was followed (end of 2018) by a second one, entitled „Blues Berry”.
???? Karpov not Kasparov - Local heroes in their native Bucharest but also quite active musical tourists, Karpov not Kasparov have been carrying their instruments throughout Europe during the past four years, playing their very energetic live set in alternative venues from Berlin, Milano, Vienna, Florence, Hamburg, Basel, Torino, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Prague, Lille or Budapest.
The duo began making music based on the rules and strategies of chess. It might seem complicated but the output is always a very danceable melody, sometimes inspired by Oriental folklore (because chess is an Oriental game) and always mixed with powerful 80's dance floor sounds.
????Otherside is purely soul, free and electric, a Bucharest born project. Art, in the performance and sincere environment, is something we care deeply about, and we'd love for you to take our art on a spin.
