Dj Down (myspace.com/dj_down) is a founding member of Unusual Suspects,the first broken beats-related organisation in Cluj, and belongs to the new generation of Romanian djs. He's mainly oriented towards nu skool breaks but also play drum&bass, big beats, hip-hop and others.He's DJing across the country and organising events, having the only purpose of promoting this kind of music and culture in Romania and why not worldwide.

 

He started spinning back in '98 when he got his first decks and records.

The influence was a mixture of drum&bass, jungle, some techno and the broken beats/big beats of the late 90's. It was a period of initiation and accumulation of the mixing and skratch skills with a few underground gigs, mostly collaborating with bands (ex. Narkoma). He also took part at the most important festivals here (TMBase, Delahoya, 48h, Transilvanian Summit, Peninsula, etc.) In february 2006 he played abroad at Jailhouse Club and feb 2007 at Suss fel Nap, both in Budapest, Hungary.

 

Shared the decks with names like: Rennie Pilgrem, Jay Cunning, Freestylers, Ed Rush, Aquasky, Big Bud, BSE, Noisia, Storm, Aphrodite, Ink, Phantom Beats, Prode, Palotai, just to mention a few.

 

Bako Zoltan aka Syn3ptik (myspace.com/syn3ptik) fell in love with drum'n'bass in Hungary.In 2005 he starts collecting vinyls and learns how to mix, entering the turntablism hype.Two years later, along with some friends found Digital Bassheadz, with the simple purpose of promoting broken beats in his hometown.His sets cover a large spectrum of influences, from liquid drumfunk to neurofunk and techstep.

 

Madliquid(myspace.com/madliquidnb), founding member of Electronic Hunt movement, played at many events in Cluj-Napoca(Battle Mode, Blade Masters, Infected Drums, Bass Monstrs, Dangerpus Grooves) and in Bucharest, Timisoara, Sibiu, Constanta, Brasov, Bistrita etc.He mixed along with Spor, Teebee, Bulletproof, Identity (BTK) Chris.Su, Jade, Matt-U, Scinetyc, Snow, Dr.Dan, Alien Pimp, Addo, Dan Bazix, Rapala, Kojok, Yuffa&Hardcore and many others.

 

So, when it comes to genres he plays techstep and neurostep, mostly, but can go from liquid soulfull dnb to darkstep, according to the vibe.He's full of energy and explosive and he shows his talent every moment.
